Just to reinforce a stereotype: I am English, have very bad teeth, drink a lot of tea, and devote much of my time to wanton hooliganism. I also have a country bumpkin accent. Oo-arr and so forth.

Also drink alot of scrumpy cider i assume lol

As with all stereotypes, it's the vocal minority that create them and the vocal minority that continue them. I know way too many Americans that I doubt could locate the land of the Swiss on a map, or even tell me what part of Europe Germany is in. While dumb Americans aren't the majority, it's the minority of fat nascar beer drinkers that make the news, or are on tv etc all the time that portray the us as stupid. I can see Bing being annoyed at it, but a lot of people bring it on themselves as well, perpetuating the stereotypes instead of making any effort. Again, i can only speak for us yanks and from my own experiences. It's easier to sit back and watch things stay the same than it is to make an effort and see the larger world.

In the last 10 years that I've been online, I met more foreign born people on IRC and online gaming and seeing the US and the world in general through their eyes makes one realize how much bullshit really goes on in the world. i once had to break up with a really cute chinese girl because her parents were not happy I was a skinny white guy, etc.

The US no longer leads the world in anything in 2007, and we've done that to ourselves (to get back to the original topic). I may hate Bush, and blame him for a lot of things, but he didn't start ignorance, he just continues the fine american tradition of it.

I can't wait until the Japanese invade with their army of japanese school girls.
