Aenigma is an English-language international guild. In Everquest 2 it was founded in November 2004 on the Crushbone Server. Our members are predominently based in Europe, though there're casual and raiding members from many other parts of the world. Our members can roughly be divided into two bulks and recruitment accordingly:
1) Raid spots (dedicated raider):Aenigma currently raids Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. Please
our Wiki for raid times in various timezones.
To decide who gets the sparkling loot we currently use "standard" DKP and open bidding. For the details please ask an officer, or look at the Wiki for
the gory loot details.
Recruitment for permanent 3 day raiding spots is currently open for:
We also have back up raider spots open for most classes.
By being a dedicated raider we hope that you will have at least
~80% attendance rate for your assigned raid days. In return you will get your share of our monthly coin splits, and also get to experience the fun and sometimes hairpulling experience of killing raid mobs.
We're flexible and not unreasonable with the exact attendance rate though, especially during vacation and holiday seasons. We also understand that real life can happen at the most unexpected times, but for some people it just seems to happen so frequently that it is hard to call it unexpected! If you do not think you can manage this attendance rate then the next category might be for you.
2) Non-raid spots (backup/casual raider and non-raiding member):If raiding is not your main interest, or if you do not think you can keep the desired attendance rate of a dedicated raider, we
*may* have a spot. As a regular member you would have to be happy with just having people to talk with, socialize, quest, and group with during your playtime. You might occasionally be able to join in on raids, but you should
not always expect it. Also, please note that the majority of our members are level 90 or close to, and thus grouping at lower levels may vary, but is not unheard of as we do have some lower level members and also a lot of alts of different levels. Though, the amount of alts played seems to be higher the further away from an expansion release it is.
See our recruitment policy on our wiki to ensure you meet our specific minimum requirements for the type of spot you want to apply for.We will not actively try to verify if anything you say about you and your character is correct, but rather trust you on providing truthful information. However, we can and might take various actions if something later turns out to be false.
Exceptions may in rare cases be accepted.
In cases where the minimum requirements are not met and exceptions are made, you will usually be given a target date by which to meet our criteria in order to hold the spot you were offered.
Application and recruitment processIf you think Aenigma is the guild for you, you will
need to register on our forums and post your interest. Please use the supplied
application template to make a
new post in the EQ2 Recruitment section.
Filling out an application does NOT guarantee acceptance. All applicants will be reviewed fairly. Before we make a decision about you becoming a member we will try to contact you in-game, if you haven't contacted us first already, so do not forget to add your character's name in your post.
If we do accept you as a possible member you will become a recruit for up to 4 weeks. After that time we will have a chat with you to see if
you are happy with us. We will also ask our current members if they have any opinions or objections to letting you become a full member. If all goes well you will then be another member of the Aenigma family.
However, if there were any objections we will look over and see what they were and if they can be resolved in any way. In worst case we will have to thank you for your interest and time in our guild and ask you to leave peacefully.
