I went to the field at 7 pm sat down in the grass waiting. It was pretty boring, nothing happen at all. usually i c some other animals like foxes and a few hares but not that evening.
At 8 my arse start to hurt so i lie a bit down and almost fell asleep. then at 8:25 a roe appeared 120 meters (131.2 yards) away. she came closer and my heart started pounding cuz i knew that the buck wasn't far from the roe. and suddenly the buck came out. I put the rifle to my shoulder and then the roe saw me, she was only like 25-30 meters away, she then ran and grunted and he followed, i thought thats it, now its too late, i tried to whistle and they both stopped and looked at me like wth is he doing.
My heart pounded so fast i couldn't get my breath and the rifle steady. then the roe grunted again and startet jumping and the buck followed a short bit when i whistle again and the both stopped again. this time i could control my breath an BANG and he fell on the spot and ran a few sec with the legs in the air. i waited 15 min and walked to him and he was STONE dead.
I shot him at 58 meters (63 yards) at 8:27 pm, sun went down at 8:40 and u are not allowed to shoot after sundown.
i never had such a adrenalin boost before that was just wow.
Now he is in the freezer ready to be bbq'ed some time this year.
