Bandwidth question
« on: 26. November 2007, 11:27:20 (11:27 AM) »

For those who have any idea about it. How much bandwidth do you think is used when you're in a tradeskill instance? I'm asking that 'cause university is starting to take closer look about the amount of bandwidth useage and I was planning to use a bit of my spare time tradeskilling

Did they specifically address you about bandwidth usage or was it a general memo? In case of the latter, it's most likely addressed at folks downloading all kinds of stuff (music, movies, software). I can tell you that this can easily amount to many 100s of gigabytes per month (not from personal experience, of course  ;D )

While a session of EQ2 will likely use more bandwidth than just regular browsing, it's probably not nearly enough to register on any 'excessive bandwidth usage radar'.

hehe. I am SO glad my Laptop doesn't run EQ2. I would honestly get even less work done than I do now.

Grab yourself DU Meter and find out...
Don't think it exceeds the bandwith of a normal webradio station, so looking at 10-20kb/second
